A Private Life

From Wed 12 to Mon 17 Nov

When sophisticated psychiatrist Lilian Steiner (Jodie Foster) learns of the death of one of her patients, she is deeply troubled. Convinced it was murder, she sets out on an investigation that takes her across France. Rebecca Zlotowski’s latest film (Grand Central, An Easy Girl) combines the tension of a thriller with a sharp reflection on the place of psychoanalysis in today’s world. Jodie Foster brings depth and brilliance to Lilian in her first major French-language role in more than two decades.

Due to a technical fault, the screening on 17 November at 20.30 is cancelled. We apologise for the inconvenience. New screenings will be added next week. For any questions, please contact the Box Office at box.office@institut-francais.org.uk
