In an old castle, theatre director Declan Donnellan leads a dozen young actors as they work on Shakespeare’s Macbeth. His insights unlock their imagination and help them find their own way through this challenging text. Full of wit, often funny, this film is as inspiring as it is a celebration of artistic collaboration and a reminder of the enduring strength of classic plays.
Special Screening
The screening on 5 June will be followed by a discussion with actor Orlando James, actor and director Ralph Fiennes, and Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod (Cheek by Jowl).
The event will conclude with a book signing by Declan Donellan of his books The Actor and the Target and The Actor and the Space, with copies available for purchase onsite.
