During the French exodus of 1940, Paulette (Brigitte Fossey), a young French girl, is orphaned during a German air raid. She is befriended by Michel (Georges Poujouly), the son of a poor farmer whose family takes her into their home to care for her. Considered as one of the most celebrated French films of the history of cinema (Golden Lion in Venice, Best Film at BAFTA, Best Foreign Film at the Oscars), Jeux interdits melds poetry and realism in one of the best ever depiction of childhood.
