Inside Gaza
Mon 02 NovSince October 7, 2023, the Gaza Strip has remained inaccessible to the international press, with independent access to the territory effectively impossible. Among the few professional witnesses able to document the conflict from within were Agence France-Presse’s staff reporters. Mai Yaghi, Adel Zaanun, Mohammed Abed, Mahmud Hams and Yahya Hassuna have covered numerous wars on behalf of AFP.
As bombs fell around them, they continued to report, photograph, and film, bearing witness while confronting the same dangers, deprivation, and uncertainty as the people whose stories they were telling. .
Now forced into exile, they reflect on what they endured and on the near-impossible task of documenting a war that has become the deadliest ever recorded for journalists.
Special Screening
The screening on 2 November will be followed by a Q&A with director Hélène Lam Trong, protagonist Mai Yaghi, Phil Chetwynd (Global News Director of Agence France-Presse), moderated by Bénédicte Paviot (Chair of the Advisory Board of Reporters sans frontières UK, and correspondent of France 24 in the UK)
