In 1925, Mussolini sent Cesare Mori to Sicily to occupy the position of Prefect. His mission was to fight the Mafia. The fascist regime was worried about its power and influence, and the next four years went down in history as the time of the Iron Prefect, who arrested and sentenced more than two thousand mobsters. Pasquale Squitieri (The Climber) directs this stunning period piece which won the David di Donatello award for best film and features spaghetti western icon Giuliano Gemma, alongside Claudia Cardinale (The Day of the Owl) and Francisco Rabal, to a score by legendary composer Ennio Morricone (Once Upon a Time in America).
