Lessons in Harmony with Jonathan Coe

Jonathan Coe’s new book, Lessons in Harmony, tells the story of the unlikely friendship between much admired French composer Maurice Ravel and his pupil, the rising British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams in Belle Epoque Paris. This stunning novel is a celebration of the power of music to create beauty, to freeze time, and, at its greatest, to express the personality not just of its composer, but of an entire nation.
