Did you know that the Institut was founded in 1910 by a woman, Marie d’Orliac? Or that it rallied Charles de Gaulle and hosted part of the Free French Forces during the Second World War?

Learn all about the Institut’s fascinating history and stunning Art Deco architecture including its Grade II listed library and recently renovated foyer with guided tours, an archives exhibition and a short film, as part of Open House London.

Throughout the day, visitors are invited to work together on a large puzzle inspired by the history of our building. Stay as long as you like, add as many pieces as you wish, and help piece together our history.
