From 12 to 14 March, publishers from around the world are meeting at the London Book Fair, an exciting three-day event of business, learning and networking for the publishing industry.

Among the guests was Hélène Duchêne, Ambassador of France to the UK, who visited the publishers and translators from the BIEF (Bureau international de l’édition française) representing French publishing and authors internationally.

French is the number one language for translation in the UK, just as English is the number one language for translation in France.

On 12 March, a reception was hosted at the Institut français in London, where Ambassador Duchêne paid tribute to the rich ties between French and British publishing industries, symbolised this year by the Franco-British Entente Littéraire Prize.
