Do I have to be a member to access La Médiathèque?
I live outside of London but I would like to access French resources – what can I do?
Our free online platform Culturethèque offers over 10,000 e-books, videos and audio clips in French or about France. This service is only available for UK users.
For members, our Europresse online newspaper service contains 1,500 free press titles that you can access with your online account.
If the library is closed, how can I return my documents?
I don’t have my online account details. What should I do?
Your username is your email address. Please check your email as you may have received your password upon registering your membership. If that is not the case, simply go to your online account and reset your password. For further help, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is it possible to donate documents to La Médiathèque?
We are happy to receive books, CDs and DVDs for adults and children, as long as they are in a good condition and in French or about France. Please contact us by e-mail (email@example.com) for further information.
I have items on loan and am unable to bring them back, what should I do?
If you have items on loan and are not able to bring them back to the Institut, you can return them by post at this address:
La Médiathèque – Institut Français du Royaume-Uni
17 Queensberry Place
London SW7 2DT
It is forbidden to leave borrowed items at the door, the windows or anywhere outside the buildings of the Institut and of Bibliothèque Quentin Blake. You are held responsible for the items you have on loan. If they go missing after you have left them outside the premises, in any circumstances, we will ask for a full refund. Thank you for your understanding.
