In November 2023, the Institut français du Royaume-Uni launched a poll to ask its audience to vote for their favourite French novel of the year.

Readers at La Médiathèque, members, students, or fans of the Institut français, dear audience, you’ve been heard!

Ballots and online forms have been counted and the novel that received the most votes is La prochaine fois que tu mordras la poussière by Panayotis Pascot.

Published in 2023 by Editions Stock, this novel is an autobiographical account on the author’s coming of age around three themes: his relationship with his father, the realisation of his homosexuality and depression.

If you haven’t read it yet, you can find it on the catalogue of La Médiathèque.
