Emmaus’ companions repair and resell donated items. In Grenoble, between the warehouse and the shop, a small group, working together with artist Pauline Bastard, takes everyday life in a different direction, presenting people and objects with humour and tenderness.
‘As the shots unfold, Pauline Bastard mischievously plays with the slippages and overlaps between her own gaze, her framing, and those of the companions turned photographers and videographers. (…) After Les Adversaires and Constructing Family Ties, Pauline Bastard continues her collective exploration of the possibilities opened up by recycling and idleness.’
