Ten years after his last feature, the maestro of Japanese anime and Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki returns for yet another vibrant and imaginative tour de force. This semi-autobiographical film finds 12-year-old Mahito having to move to the countryside with his father where fitting in proves difficult. When he crosses path with a local heron who has the ability to speak, he embarks on a fantastic journey through grief, life, friendship and creation.
