In his only film as a director, writer Jorge Semprún embarks on a quest for both Republican and Francoist memories. He builds this documentary around interviews taken in 1972 in Spain and in France and includes images from the Spanish Civil War archives and from media during Franco’s dictatorship. Marking the 100th anniversary of Jorge Semprún’s birth, this film allows us to delve into Semprún’s perception of the facts that drove him away from Spain and to France at a very early age.
