Echoing Virgil’s quote “to men and arms I sing”, Maria Elorza dedicates her debut feature film to women and literature in a personal exploration of the relationship between lives and books and the endless possibilities of cinema. Through the examination of women from her life, their libraries and their relationship to books and litterature, the director gives voice to people and stories that often remain in the margins of literature and cinema.

Iñigo Salaberria, who died earlier this year, was one of the most important videoartists of the 1980s and 1990s in the Basque Country. In this joint work with Elorza, images filmed by him in the mid-1980s with a Super 8 camera, are used here to create a visual poem reflecting on passing time places that don’t exist anymore.
