The campaign ‘Dis-moi dix mots‘ (“Tell me ten words”) is organised every year in France and abroad by the French Ministry of Culture.

The Institut français in London invites the students of its Language Centre to celebrate the French language by participating in a writing competition. Ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, eager students will compose a text using 10 words around the theme of sport: adrénaline, prouesse, échappée, faux départ, mental, s’encorder, collectif, hors-jeu, champion and aller aux oranges. May the best wordsmith win!  

To enter the competition, students can send their entry to cdl.marketing13@gmail.com with the subject line: “Francophonie 2024 – Competition + specify your level” between 1-31 March 2024.

Level A2 3 words 60 – 80 words
Level B1 5 words 120 – 140 words
Level B2 7 words 180 – 250 words
Level C1 9 words 300 – 400 words
Level C2 10 words 450 – 600 words
