The British Library invites you to a very special rendez-vous with French literature and history with a symposium exploring its French collections and celebrating the Entente Cordiale’s 120th anniversary. This afternoon symposium features French author Michel Pastoureau, alongside leading academics, curators, and translators, and offers discussions, hidden treasures, and two pop-up displays: Postcards for Perec and When Marianne and Britannia Met. Later in the evening, you can join Professor William Marx (Collège de France) and author Kate Mosse in a conversation on literature’s transformative power. Introduced by French Ambassador Hélène Duchêne and chaired by British Library CEO Sir Roly Keating.
Both events are supported by the French Embassy, the French Studies Library Group, and Friends of the Nations’ Libraries Trustee Mark Storey.
