A humorous but poignant film about the first Georgian football team. A gifted and enthusiastic sportsman Jason creates the first ever Georgian football club in the seaport of Poti on the Black Sea. Despite poverty and lack of sports equipment they defeat numerous foreign and domestic teams until they face a group of English sailors who arrive in their port. The director Nana Mchedlidze was an actress with the Rustaveli Theatre and became director of the film studio Georgia-Film in 1957. This is a newly restored version by the Georgian National Film Centre.
